Scholarship and Annual Award Distribution Program for Economically Disadvantaged, Orphaned, and Meritorious Students

2. Background of the Program

Education is a fundamental right of every child. However, financial hardship, lack of parental support, and various social circumstances often create obstacles in a student’s educational journey.
If cultural festivals can be connected with educational promotion, they can become an effective means to increase students’ enthusiasm and motivation toward learning.

Based on this understanding, this program has been designed and will be implemented accordingly.

3. Objectives of the Program

  1. To provide financial support to academically talented students from economically disadvantaged families so they can continue their studies uninterrupted.
  2. To support orphaned children by providing essential educational materials and covering necessary school fees.
  3. To recognize and reward students who achieve outstanding results in SEE and higher education during the annual Losar festival, thereby promoting academic excellence.
  4. To strengthen the relationship between education and culture within the community and enhance students’ confidence and motivation.

4. Target Groups

  • Economically disadvantaged but hardworking and capable students
  • Orphaned or parentless children
  • Meritorious students who have achieved high scores (GPA/percentage) in SEE and higher education

5. Key Activities of the Program

5.1 Scholarships for Economically Disadvantaged and Meritorious Students

  • Support for school fees, uniforms, books, notebooks, and stationery
  • Annual academic progress evaluation for scholarship continuity
  • Student selection based on verification by the local committee or school

5.2 Scholarships for Orphaned Children

  • Free admission facility
  • Educational materials, uniforms, and—if necessary—support for accommodation and meals
  • Listing and verification through social service committees or guardianship confirmation documents

5.3 Award Distribution During the Annual Losar Festival

  • Identification of students who achieve high scores in SEE and higher education
  • Recognition and award distribution at a special ceremony during Losar
  • Awards may include certificates, trophies, cash support, and educational materials
  • Ensuring participation of the community, parents, and teachers

6. Expected Outcomes

  • Support for students at risk of discontinuing their education due to financial difficulties
  • Contribution to the safe, stable, and continuous education of orphaned children
  • Enhanced competitive spirit and motivation among meritorious students
  • Strengthened educational importance within the community through the integration of Losar with educational promotion
